Pedestrian's Shoes Fly 200 Feet After Hit And Run
Police released shocking dash camera video of a pedestrian in Ferndale, Mich, who received a hit from a car that was so powerful, it knocked him out of his shoes and launched them 200 feet. Investigators said Rafael Hatter can be seen attempting to cross a street in Ferndale when a car speeds into the picture and hits Hatter, tossing him in the air like a rag doll. |

 Yeah, this happened in my area. The guy actually survived and got up and walked to the ambulance.

February 28, 2007 Police released shocking dash camera video of a pedestrian in Ferndale, Mich, who survived a hit from a car that was so powerful, it knocked him out of his shoes and launched them 200 feet. Investigators said Rafael Hatter can be seen attempting to cross a street in Ferndale when a car speeds into the picture and hits Hatter, tossing him in the air like a rag doll. Local 6 aired video showing his shoes flying out of the picture and landing hundreds of feet away. An officer caught up with the driver and took him into custody during the incident. The 43-year-old driver was charged with drunken driving. Hatter survived the crash last year, but remains in physical rehabilitation. Hatter's survival after being hit with such force has been called miraculous. So i moved it to the cctv section |

Thanks Kellyhound!! I was trying to find out a bit more info last night after I read that he survived but then the bloody internet went down on me so I gave up! I forgot there was a CCTV section on here in all honesty - I only made it to the Watercooler for the first time at the weekend... I seem to get stuck on the gore side of things!

More people should watch this video and get a little education. It shows exactly why when someone gets hit, they lose their shoes or even their clothes.
