Re: Pedestrian Dies After Losing Balance Falling Backwards into Drainage Pit
Yerawada, Maharashtra, India A 69-year-old laundry business owner, Pradeep L.P., died after falling into a pit dug for drainage line work. Pradeep had been walking when an autorickshaw either hit him, or caused him to lose his balance. Pradeep fell backwards, and the plastic barricades surrounding the pit proved inadequate to prevent him falling into it. Local politician Avinash Salve alleged that flimsy barricades had been used where iron barricades were required. He demanded the contractor be permanently blacklisted and charged for culpable homicide. |
