Papantla Flyers Fall from a Height of 10 Meters
The Papantla flyers were participating in a celebration honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Tihuatlán, Veracruz, when the accident occurred. Five Papantla flyers fell from a height of 10 meters. They were later transferred to the Poza Rica Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. |

The ceremony is a pre-Hispanic tradition meant to invoke rain and fertility, symbolizing the fall of raindrops and the earth's renewal. Well, those guys certainly came raining down. |

I just saw a show on these guys on our local PBS channel. But no one fell, so it wasn't that great. But they DID have some chicks doing it, which was a first for them. So it wasn't that boring. |
