Not-so-fun-fact...75 percent of all car vs. motorcycle crashes occur when a car violates the motorcyclists right-of-way/path of travel. Car turns in front of bike (usually a left at an intersection - a u-turn on a two lane is fairly rare but obviously happens), motorcyclist hits car. What is the overwhelming reason for the car driver turning left into the motorcyclists path? "I DIDN'T SEE HIM!!!"  Other anecdotal fact - when a car driver turns left in front of a semi-tractor trailer, the reason they give the majority of the time (if they live)? "I DIDN'T SEE HIM!!!"  |
