Those poles look really mean.....not like breakaway poles in the U.S.
In the slo-mo version, you can see his head hit the pole as the car is swinging around. Pretty brutal. But he was going really fast for such a small and crowded street.
That's why it called an illegal street race

Looks more like reinforced concrete to me.
looks too thin and too small to be concrete and rebar to me. Concrete & rebar would deform under that impact. The surface does appear to be concrete, but i suspect it is a massive w beam.
