You hate when cars block what?...the view? Bound to happen no matter what, it's up to the people who are driving their vehicles or walking into the street to be vigilant. I never understand when people don't proceed with caution especially when they can not see what is in their "blind spots".

An experienced rider would have avoided that situation altogether. Something similar happened to me when I smoked a school teacher head on making a left turn, only I was driving my pickup and not a bike.
