Police Investigate PDRM Motorcycle Accident That Went Viral The police are investigating an accident involving a motorcycle belonging to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) with another motorcycle in Subang Kelana Jaya Link here, which went viral via a video on social media recently. Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the accident is believed to have occurred on July 10 at about 6.50pm. He said the 17-second video of the incident, recorded by a vehicle's dashboard camera, had been uploaded to a Facebook page. "Initial investigations found that the BMW motorcycle with the police logo ridden by the PDRM personnel was in the right lane before changing direction to the left lane and colliding with a Honda ADV motorcycle that was in the middle lane. As a result of the collision, the Honda ADV rider, a 20-year-old man, fell to the left side of the road," he said in a statement on Friday. According to him, the police have also taken note of the claim in the viral video that the BMW motorcycle involved did not stop at the location of the incident. "However, a review of the full recording of the incident showed that the PDRM member who was carrying out official duties had stopped the motorcycle about 30 metres from the location of the incident to avoid risk to other road users. The policeman and members of the public also helped the victim until he sought treatment at the Shah Alam Hospital," he said. He explained that further investigations were still being carried out, including efforts to obtain independent witnesses to assist in the investigation. "The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987. Members of the public who have any information are asked to come forward by contacting the Investigating Officer of the Subang Jaya IPD Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Inspector Fatin Husna Khairuzzaman at 017-3012621," he said. Earlier, a video went viral on social media showing an accident involving a PDRM motorcycle with another motorcycle. |
