A woman that was struck by an airborne metal roofing sheet survived the horrific incident and is currently in stable condition.

Powerful monsoon winds ripped off a building’s roof, a large corrugated metal panel and plummeted toward the sidewalk.

The sheet hit a projecting shop awning right before striking her. This awning absorbed a massive amount of the momentum, breaking the sheet's fall and preventing a fatal direct impact.

Local citizens rushed her to a nearby hospital. She sustained a severe head wound that required 20 to 22 stitches.
