Minibus Crossing the Railway Crossing Gets Hit by a Train
Central Java. Indonesia. A Daihatsu Gran Max got hit by a train at a crossing without barriers on Sunday morning around 09:30. The driver of the Gran Max, identified as Sarmidi (56), was declared dead at the scene due to the severity of the impact. A local resident who was reportedly sleeping in a nearby crossing post was seriously injured when the vehicle was thrown into the post after the collision. Witnesses stated the vehicle was traveling from the north toward Mranggen and despite attempts by a local guard to stop the vehicle, the driver reportedly continued onto the tracks as the train approached. The collision was so forceful that the Gran Max was totaled and catapulted into a nearby structure. Authorities have evacuated the deceased to a local hospital and are conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident at this unguarded crossing. |
