Mini Car for Disabled Person, Stuck on Level Crossing, Hit by a Train
A train hit a mini car, designed for disabled people, on Wednesday afternoon at a train level crossing in Zaandijk, Netherlands. The vehicle was jammed under the barriers. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Assendelft, was able to get out of the car just in time and was not injured. The rear of the Canta was hit by the train. Due to the collision, the vehicle is a write-off. The barrier also broke off. Previous collision The accident happened during the aftermath of a collision between two cars at the intersection of Guisweg and N203 in Zaandijk. That happened around 4:15 PM. The damage was huge and the police arranged traffic. The driver of the Canta drove, 30 minutes later, around 4.45 p.m., on the bicycle lane along the Guisweg. He came from Zaandijk and drove in the direction of Koog aan de Zaan. He reached the level crossing. On the other side, however, cyclists had gathered, so he was not able to leave the level crossing. When he stopped, the train was just approaching. The victim had no option but to get out of his Canta and walk away. The drivers of the cars from the first accident were not injured either. The police say that no further investigation is being initiated. |

I like how the guy just tosses the tiny wheel in through the car window. Those cars are so cute. They look like they carry Care-Bears.
