Re: MEXICO: Cell Phone Ignites LPG During Refueling
Anymore I figure someone will be tinkering with a smart phone everywhere! I kind of doubt that a cell phone makes enough open spark to explode LPN. My guess that the cell phone cause was just a theory, and the actual igniter was a static spark from those humans walking and moving about. |

Re: MEXICO: Cell Phone Ignites LPG During Refueling
That cookoff was interesting. I was wondering what would happen if an LPG vehicle had a fuel leak catch fire. I guess the relatively small volume and unconfined nature of the fuel-air space kept it from being a major explosion, as opposed to when a building fills up with gas then literally evaporates with the force of the blast. |

Re: MEXICO: Cell Phone Ignites LPG During Refueling
I recall a documentary I saw once, discussing the switch-off-cell-phone-at-pump rule, claiming that there has never been a confirmed case of a cell phone causing an explosion at a gas station. I don't know if that was correct, but that was the claim.
