Two motorcyclists are reported to be in serious condition at a hospital located in the municipality of Ecatepec after being hit by the driver of a truck that was traveling at excessive speed in the heart of the municipal capital.

On the motorcycle were a man and a woman, about 25 years old, who were apparently heading towards the center of Ecatepec to start their workday in the north of the Valley of Mexico.

However, to the surprise of pedestrians, the bikers collided with a white truck that crossed the same area, but at high speed, which prevented its driver from braking and avoiding the impact.

After the impact, one of the delivery drivers was thrown against a car that was parked on the side of the road, while his companion ended up lying in a nearby planter.

Neighbors who were in the area tried to help the injured and called the municipality's emergency services, who managed to channel both people to a hospital where they are reported to be in serious condition.

Meanwhile, the responsible driver managed to be detained by municipal police officers to determine responsibilities.

Although some Internet users assured that the operator was an official from the municipal government of Ecatepec, authorities denied the version and assured that the alleged person responsible does not belong to the local administration.
