Marine Survives Taliban Headshot on Helmet
A Taliban sniper managed to get a non-fatal headshot on a Marine's helmet while the Marines were conducting a joint helicopter raid in the Now Zad district, Helmand Province in 2013.

The shot occurs right at the :45 mark in the video.

those helmets ride probably 3" + above the skull....looks like had the guy in front not been wearing a helmet, which deflected the slug upwards, the guy with the GoPro would have gotten it in the face
