A cotton factory owner in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, China, was trying to take a quilt in the factory the day before yesterday when a cotton-fluffing machine weighing hundreds of kilograms suddenly fell and he was trapped in the machine. Fortunately, his mother came to rescue him immediately after hearing the noise, and the owner saved his life. According to China's "Xiaoxiang Morning News" report, the accident occurred on the morning of November 6. When the man was about to take the quilt on the machine, the kneading machine used to fluff the cotton suddenly fell down. The weight of hundreds of kilograms crushed him and made him unable to move. Fortunately, his mother was nearby at the time. After discovering the situation, she shouted for help and called other people to help him out. The kneading machine suddenly fell, presumably due to a gearbox failure. The man later said that he had broken four ribs and "almost died, luckily my mother saw it." Other cotton mills said that such situations are just the tip of the iceberg in the cotton-fleshing industry, and injuries are common. |
