Brazil, O.C, 65 years old, and his granddaughter R.B.C, 3 years old, were hit by a car while crossing an avenue at a pedestrian crossing. A security camera installed in a store registered the exact moment of the hit and run accident.

The video shows the grandfather carrying his granddaughter and when they start to cross the avenue, the first car brakes to wait for them to pass. However, a second vehicle does not stop and hits the two, who are thrown.

Then the car that hit them drives away without providing help.

The accident mobilized first responders from the Mobile Emergency Care Service and the Fire Department. The girl suffered moderate head trauma and facial trauma. The grandfather suffered a fractured right leg and a laceration in his arm. Both were referred to the Hospital.

The 2nd driver was speeding but this is a very common way that pedestrians are hit. The car that stopped, is blocking the view of the other car. The old man wasn’t careful enough.
