Locomotive Crashes into Excavator at Strasburg Rail Road in Lancaster County
According to a spokesperson for the railroad, a low-speed locomotive hit an excavator at the Leaman Place Yard in Paradise shortly before 11:30 a.m. The excavator had been left on the track after work was done the night before. The crash was considered "minor," and no passengers were aboard at the time of the crash. The locomotive was traveling from the end of the train to the next when it struck the excavator along the track. There was no derailment and no threat to the general public, the spokesperson said. The locomotive, which is the oldest at the railroad, is expected to be repaired and back on the tracks for the start of Christmas trains later this month. |

The excavator's arm went right through the front of that train so easily. That must be some brittle material there, maybe cast iron?

I see Doc Brown made it back to present day. Marty was shaken by the collision, however. Oh, wait...

I wonder if the conductor of the train could see more than 15' in front of him? Maybe a few people want to have their eyes checked right before they sign up for unemployment!
