Re: Lizard Is Saved, Saviour Not
Luis Ricardo Coronel suffered severe head trauma, as well as fractures to his face, arm, hip and leg, and was taken to the Trauma Hospital in Asunción, Paraguay where he remains hospitalized. October 3, 2024. A man was run over by a woman, Mirtha Tereza Delgado, after trying to rescue a lizard that was in the middle of highway PY04, at kilometer 44, which connects San Ignacio to Pilar, Paraguay. As a result of the accident, Coronel suffered severe head trauma , along with multiple fractures to his face, arm, hip, and leg. According to his wife, Selva Griffiths , the man was initially transferred to the San Ignacio District Hospital and, due to the severity of his injuries, was later transferred to the Asunción Trauma Hospital, where he remains in intensive care . Despite the seriousness of the incident, Coronel's family has expressed outrage at the lack of contact from the driver responsible for the accident. Griffiths noted that, so far, Mirtha Teresa Delgado has not contacted the family to offer any assistance or apology. "There has still been no response, not even a message," Griffiths lamented. According to sources close to the case, the driver was released shortly after the incident, while the Prosecutor's Office continues to investigate the circumstances of the incident. |
