Lightning Strike Electrical Discharge from UH-60 Black Hawk Knocks Over Soldier
Colombia. A soldier was performing security duties, acting as a sentinel near a parked UH-60 Black Hawk military helicopter, assigned to the Batallón de Movilidad y Maniobra de Aviación N.° 3 when lightning struck the helicopter, with the electrical discharge affecting the soldier and causing him to fall to the ground. The soldier survived the strike but sustained injuries. The Black Hawk had it tail rotor damaged. Colombia ranks among the countries with the highest lightning activity in the world. . |
