Last of 2 Trailers Pulled by a Semi-truck Tips Over Onto Chevrolet Pickup Truck
On Tuesday, December 21, 2010, just before 2:00 PM, the Jackson County (ORE) Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle car crash at the intersection of Table Rock Road and Biddle Road.
A semi-truck pulling two trailers, driven by, Phillip B. McCulloch, 10-07-69, from Central Point, was headed southbound on Table Rock Road.
As McCulloch turned west onto Biddle the trailer of the semi truck broke free sideswiping a white Ford F-150 before landing on the driver's side cab of the Chevy Silverado .
Several vehicles were damaged.
There was one person inside the Chevrolet truck, William W. Geary, 05-06-51, from Central Point. Geary was pinned inside the truck for over an hour while emergency personnel worked to lift the semi-truck off the Chevrolet pickup truck.
A fork lift and heavy wreaker were both used, once the semi truck was lifted, firefighters were able push the Chevrolet back and away from the semi.
Firefighters from Fire District Three and Medford Fire quickly worked to extricate the victim trapped inside.
At 3:30 PM, the extrication was complete and Geary was taken by Mercy Flights to an area hospital, with serious, physical injury.
