TOPEKA, Kan. A Manhattan man was taken to the hospital after his SUV was launched into the air after striking a trailer parked on the shoulder of I-70 in Riley Co. on Tuesday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), Greg Harris was taken to a nearby hospital. No one was in the 2006 Ford F350 attached to the trailer.

The KHP Crash Log indicates Harris was heading west on I-70 near mile marker 321, about 8 miles east of the Manhattan exit no. 313, around 9:00 a.m. when his 200 Jeep Cherokee inexplicably went onto the shoulder and hit the trailer.

The SUV went airborne and flipped before coming down in a nearby ditch.

If that was staged , it was a great idea, but I choose to think he was just an idiot who got his 5 seconds of fame.

To me, it looks like he dozed off at the wheel. I've seen people do it before and end up rolling their vehicles in the ditch. This poor bastard just had the additional misfortune of hitting an impromptu ramp to get the Evel Knievel ending.

It looks like it was filmed with a hand held camera not a mounted dashboard camera. My guess is the car that filmed it observed him driving erratically and started filming to catch the inevitable crash.
