An Israeli tank has crashed off the side of a transporter.

Footage shows the tanker mounting the transporter before accelerating and crashing off the side on Sunday.

The tank nearly crushes the soldier who is guiding it into place as it rolls onto its back.

A video taken from a different angle shows how the tanker drove over the edge of the transporter before crash landing.

The Israeli Merkava tank ended up overturned with smoke pouring out of it.

The incident reportedly occurred near a military base in the Jordan Valley.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, although the Israeli soldier driving the tank reportedly suffered minor injuries.

He was expected to be released from hospital later that day.

The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.

Sounds like the throttle stuck. He's still at full power all the way to the end and beyond. It's still at full throttle even after it lands on it's back.
Also, nice job on recovery. They didn't just slam it over, but tipped it slowly back on it's feet. You didn't hear any "CLANG!" from the suspension bottoming out, and it just touched down and bounced a little.
Also, I noticed the whip antennas stood it all with no complaints.

Could it be a run away diesel engine? The smoke pouring out of the exhaust looks like the diesel run aways on Youtube, I've never seen one in person.

I think you are correct. I'm sure he wasn't holding the gas pedal down after he got it on the trailer.

I expected they were going to let that tank just fall and slam down on the track. Returning it to an upright position was actually done very skillfully.
