Texas, Iraq war veteran Zach Perez (25) was sent flying through the air after his motorcycle was hit from behind on a Texas highway.
He was hit by the car behind him when he slowed down in heavy traffic.
He broke a rib and 4 vertebrae, suffered a hernia and had his spleen removed.
"I survived Iraq and I come back home and almost die on the Tollway.
I think it should be the other way around," Perez said.
His fiancee, Jana Solsbery, said after that the bike had to go.
"As his first duty as fiancee, he's not getting another bike," she said.
Perez said the driver had no license or insurance, and wasn't arrested.
But the driver did receive 3 tickets.
