survivable? possibly i think if anyone in that pile up had a chance it would be the truck driver, more metal and vehicle between him and the other vehicles, perhaps the driver of the suv that was filming it made it out alive but the screamer and the car going the wrong way, those were less likely to have survived. although i was in a 96 cavalier at a dead stop when a 1994 ford f-250 slammed into the back of it at 55 mph...all i ended up with was slight whiplash and a car half the size it used to be....the irony: i was stopped behind a napa delivery truck that was waiting on another vehicle that was being loaded on a roll back (flat bed used to transport vehicles)....

Possibly passed out driver. Another car off camera was hit before that car drove into the highway.
