Addison, (May 25, 2025) — Viral video of a Penske box truck exploding in this morning on Wood Dale Rd.

The fire department says four homes were damaged and one was left uninhabitable.

They say one of the walls of the box truck hit the front facing wall of the home pushing it 2-4 feet inward.

Debris spilled out for one to two blocks including clothes and furniture.

The homeowners were inside at the time but are not hurt according to fire.

Officials say the driver of the truck was seen walking around the truck when responders arrived. They say the cause was a propane tank leak.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
