yeah, I know the U-turn was illegal.....but still.....you morons didn't see this a half a mile ahead, and start taking action?!?!?! It looks to me like they just drove right up and hit the guy. If you are gonna drive, you gotta be smarter than a median barrier. |

Well, calculate the total time the turn took the truck driver. Remember he is already halfway through it before the video even starts. It's another 3-4 seconds before the accident happens. So if they are driving at 45-50 mph, that's about a half a mile. How far away can YOU see a semi making a move? A mile? 3/4 mile? It's rather notable that the first car to get to him actually goes around him. I guess the others that were behind were just looking at his bumper, instead of the huge truck that was moving across their lanes. Yup, they are morons. |

Hmmm. 60 mph = 1 mile in 60 seconds 120 mph = 1 mile in 30 seconds 240 mph = 1 mile in 15 seconds Those cars must have been flying to go “1/2 mile in 3-4 seconds...” |

Okay, I was wrong. Oh......wait...…..No.....they are STILL morons. Can you see a truck 1/2 mile ahead of you? Can you see what the truck is doing? Good! Then you won't have an accident. But if you are a moron, it won't matter. Even if you see the truck, you will still run into it. Also, the first 3 cars coming up managed to drive around the truck with no problem. So they were the closest ones, and they had no problem. But then the ones that were FARTHER away, still ran into the truck. So I guess it doesn't matter if it's 3 seconds, or 30 seconds. The result is the same. Anyway, what is 3 seconds in furlongs and chains? Because that's the system I use for my calculations on how stupid some drivers are. That, and cubits. Always a useful measurement there! |

I think you are assuming the road is pretty straight before the the truck was blocking the road. I wouldn't assume the same dumb truck driver that made a U-Turn in the middle of a 3 lane road would be smart enough to do it where there was plenty of visibility... On the other hand, the people who ran into him were probably not paying as much attention to the situation as they probably could have. |
