Police have released cell phone video that shows a violent crash that happened during what appeared to be a drag race early Sunday, July 16 in grand rapids, MI.

The drag race happened just after midnight Sunday on Front Avenue NW near Sixth Street.

Grand Rapids police said two vehicles, a red Ford Mustang and gray Infiniti, apparently were drag racing and using both lanes of Front Avenue.

As the racers approached Sixth Street, another vehicle traveling on Sixth Street began to cross the road and was struck by the Mustang.

Those two vehicles then spun and crashed into a parked vehicle. A woman in the parked vehicle was seriously injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No one else was injured.

Police said the Infiniti was not involved in the crash and left the scene. Police are looking for that driver.

Officers identified the Mustang driver and that person is cooperating with police.
