Wow, very nearly passed the audition for the new 'Unbreakable' sequel. This sort of thing (random suicidal morons to dodge) should happen in GTA and such (I presume it isn't already).

Didn't see any braking by the red car. Not paying attention. They should have seen the pedestrian on the road before they were hit by the first car.

And WTF is going on with all those people walking around on the road afterwards, just waiting for the next ignorant fucker (probably driving a truck) to plow on through.

In China they are known as "Streetwalkers", people who wander around with no real destination, gazing open-mouthed at whatever catches their eye.

Would you happen to have a link to this info/that usage of the word in China, or is it perhaps a slightly different word? All I've found so far online is the plain ol' long-time definition of the word, aka prostitutes et al. Or maybe, are you 'having us on'? :)

Sorry! I guess I should say right now that virtually EVERYTHING I post on here, is "Made Up" or imaginary, false, or a fantasy of my imagination.

Like the super-models who showed up at my door, and kept me prisoner, and treated me like a "piece of meat", using me only for my body, and never even ASKING my thoughts on the "export tariff situation in Finland", as if I would not even KNOW about such things. Their casual disregard of my mental acuity left me emotionally damaged. Sometimes I break down and sob while I am waxing and greasing my HUGE wiener appendage, readying myself for yet another usage at the hands of these shallow, self-absorbed Supermodels. It's almost like being in HELL, except different, like when my balls are jammed right up to their lips, and their eyes are bugged out, which they seem to enjoy an awful lot. One of these days, I am going to file an official complaint, with the Models Union, or whoever it is who licenses Super Models in the U.S. so they can be out on the street, unsupervised.

You know! The ones that think PRNDL is the manufacturer of the transmission in their car?

In this semi fake post you mention, I was just mentioning "Streetwalkers" as I saw them in China. Obvious peasants, having never even seen or operated an elevator or an automatic door, and similar to what would have been the "yokels" or 'hayseeds" from rural America, being in the big city for the first time in about 1930.

Except I DID see these people, wandering around Beijing and other cities, but completely stupefied by modern Chinese cities. Many had never seen an actual flush toilet. I was in elevators with them, gently showing them how to select the floor button to make the elevator actually move.

So when I use the term "Streetwalkers" in that sense, it's people who are amazed at the things they see. Like the streetcar that is approaching them, VERY QUICKLY, getting closer and bigger by the second while they stand on the tracks, just gawking.

That was in 2000, so by now, most of those people have probably changed. Although, from the posts I see on here, I MAY be a little over-optimistic.

I miss those models, nice to know they're keeping busy.

As I understand it, around the time when cars were first really starting to appear around the US (so way before the 30s I guess), at the time there were plenty of fine and wide streets in US cities but they'd always been for people, horses, trolleys, little markets etc. This was a little bit in the way of car adoption, and the official infrastructure emphasizing cars instead was desperately desired by those who made them and their fuel etc. There was a not-so-subtle campaign in art and newspapers pushing the idea that only hayseeds would wander out into the streets anymore. Eventually, life followed art.
