Given that the so-called "tailgater" was able to stop safely with ample room behind the brake-checker, he won't be liable for anything. Brake-checker will end up with a whole bunch of charges against them for dangerous driving. And will serve the fucker right.

The guy who is the most to blame for this is the guy who crashed into the "tailgater". Obviously your'e not supposed to stop in the middle of a road, but it does happend, either if its caused by a jerk or a guy with engine troubles.

This was an attempt at a "crash for cash" insurance scam. Blue car in front will cause an accident and claim from the person who hit them. Magically the damage will change from a dented bumper into a completely trashed vehicle overnight and the number of passengers will rise from two to four, all of whom have serious spinal injuries. The aim from this particular incident was to claim £45k from the lorry driver and his insurance. Its arseholes like blue-car driver that push my insurance up each year, something like an extra £90 a year to cover all of these retarded claims. Link here |
