I'm in Tucson. The dunes are actually over the western Arizona border in California. A lot of guys I used to work with go out there on weekends. I always hear tales of damaged vehicles and injured and dead people. At least 2 of them have totaled their sand-rails out there.

Well, I think the technical location is Glammis, but I think they are all part of the Algedones Dune System in California. But you are right, Yuma is kind of a bizarre place.
