Hit-and-run Driver Plows into 9-year-old Georgia Girl Playing in Her Yard
LITHONIA, Georgia-Authorities in Georgia are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 9-year-old girl playing in her front yard. The family has released the surveillance video hoping it will help catch the driver, who took off from the scene. It happened Friday in Lithonia, Georgia. The little girl was playing with a friend when a black Sedan came barreling towards them, jumped the curb, struck the child and went into the family's home. You can see in the video, someone slip out of the passenger-side door and take off. LaDerihanna Holmes suffered critical injuries. Her friend was not injured. |

Update: Each day, we discover more about the obstacles that this brave little girl and her family face; not just the days in the hospital but the months, and perhaps years, ahead to cope with the devastating impact of this incident. Thank you for your prayers and support. On Friday, March 29th, around 7pm little LaDerihanna Holmes was in her yard on the front porch when a motor vehicle drove through the stop sign and plowed through the yard straight through the house and running over the victim (LaDerihanna). LaDerihanna sustained a skull fracture with laceration, a broken pelvic bone in 3 places, a front fracture is shattered and a deep back laceration is fractured, as well as a a leak in her right heart valve. It is a miracle that she is still alive. At this current moment, she is in critical condition and the family is in need of financial assistance. Glad she survived that. Kids can be so resilient, surviving horrific shit that would most likely fatally injure an adult. Not to make light of any of this. But...why would anyone do that to her eyebrows? Then I see her in the hospital bed and she has like half of her brows shaved. |
