Highschool Student on Crosswalk Struck by Car and Died
China, a highschool student was crossing the street at a crosswalk and paused briefly in the middle of the road before a white passenger car, driven by a 43-year-old man, Z, approached at a high speed without braking and struck the student. The force of the impact threw the student into the opposite lane. Despite resuscitation efforts at the hospital, the student passed away from his injuries. Both drivers involved were detained by police for investigation. Initial tests ruled out the use of alcohol or drugs. |

Seems that there is a widespread lack of acceptance of the meaning of the white stripes painted on the road.
