I thought this video looked familiar. Not sure if this footage is from the US, but gates/bollards/rigid barriers are not allowed by the DOT highway design code, which applies to US public access roads (including bike lanes and bike paths). Sometimes a city or county will make their own rules for locally funded projects. Clearly bicyclists don't expect gates any more than any other vehicle on a public road. |
