~ I assume the guy has something to do with the owner of the business, who got hired as a favor because he was cheap, as well as inexperienced. ~ Cut both live wires at the same time. |

A friend of mine once wanted to test to see if the wire was "live" in a situation similar to this one by touching it with a standard nailing hammer. It melted a good size piece out of that hammer.
