russia, Last Sunday morning a 30-year-old pedestrian walking a crosswalk was run over by an ambulance. He died in the ICU of the Hospital the following night.

I'm guessing he saw/heard it coming and tried to stop suddenly, causing him to slip and fall backwards.

Damn, could have survived if he hadn't tried to step backwards. He slipped! Terrible.
And again...these crosswalks are horrible. They need traffic lights. I find it insane that a pedestrian has the right of way no matter what. How fucking backwards is the thinking? People just expect for vehicles to stop right there. SMFH. All these deaths could be avoidable with just making driving in Russia...safe. They could even have strict speed limits in the roads they have these crosswalks.
