Police in Utah are trying to track down the Good Samaritans who lifted a burning car to free an unconscious motorcyclist Monday.

A video shows construction workers, a man in a suit, students and other bystanders lifting a vehicle after it collided with a sports bike and caught fire in the city of Logan.

One of the workers then drags the man, who appears to be unconscious, from underneath the burning wreck before police try to extinguish the flames.

It was a "life-saving move that the Logan Police Department does not want to go unnoticed," Assistant Chief Jeff Curtis told CNN.

Officers want to find the people who helped save the biker - identified as 21-year-old Brandon Wright from Logan - so they can be recognized at a city council meeting.

Police said the driver of the BMW car exited a parking lot in front of the motorcycle, which caused Wright to lose control and become lodged under the vehicle.


Curtis said the man is in stable condition following surgery Monday.

The driver of the car was not seriously injured.

Bystanders stopped to help police lift a burning car that hit and dragged a motorcyclist in Logan, Utah. The cyclist was rescued by a group who picked up the car and pulled the man out from under the wreckage.
