Glass Panes Fall from Truck Onto Biker

This is the moment a cyclist miraculously survives after being buried underneath huge panes of glass that fell from a passing articulated lorry.

Police confirmed the electric bicycle rider survived the dramatic incident, which happened in China.

Traffic camera footage shows the cyclist making a left turn into a junction but failing to check for oncoming traffic.

A heavy goods vehicle driver, who was hauling a shipment of large glass panes on his trailer, was not able to brake in time and swerved to avoid the bike.

In doing so, the heavy glass on board tipped to one side, snapping the safety rope which had been holding them in place.

The panes of glass fall right on top of the bike rider - known as Mr Chu - shattering on him and burying the cyclist in a mountain of shards.

Local authorities said Chu was found alive and conscious but pinned in the pile of sharp glass, which caused numerous lacerations on his back.

He was taken to hospital and continues to receive treatment for what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

The incident is still being investigated, with no arrests made so far.
