Get A Dashcam!
I was hoping my first post could have been a bit more dramatic. This is quick and bloodless. I was driving my Toyota Tundra on a two lane in north Texas. As I was passing a cement truck, going in the opposite direction, the trucks' access ladder came down with perfect timing. I saw it coming but there was no room to maneuver, we were crossing a bridge at the time. You hear how loud it was. The impact destroyed the side mirror. There was absolutely no problem with the trucking company paying $1400.00 to replace the mirror after I showed them the video. Another foot and it would have been into the drivers compartment with different results. So no gore, but I'll keep trying! Thanks to all the superstars who post on here and give us all inspiration. |

Re: Get A Dashcam!
Toyota Tundra is not exactly a car for average people. especially here in the Philippines. It is probably rated as the only pickup we can call a truck here. the rest are just pickup vehicle that only has the size of an suv. Tundra here initially costs 4.5M Philippine pesos in stock form. about 90K usd.

Re: Get A Dashcam!
Tundras are everywhere in the southern US because they are one of the cheapest full sized pickup trucks in the US. People with boats and campers need full sized trucks to move their stuff. They're something like $34k USD and most in the US own vehicles they can't afford anyway because credit is cheap and virtually unlimited. Tens of thousands of average people own them here. I'm glad you're OK OP. Just a little further and your face would have looked like Nikki after she wrecked her dad's Porsche. |
