yup,i don't buy the "equipment failure" BS....by license they have to inspect/replace parts on a regular schedule. quite plain to see the punk driver entered the corner too fast, then failed to correct his negligence

Shawn Swavely, 41, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, was coming down Flint Hill Road toward Route 412 at 8:56 a.m. in Lower Saucon Township when he realized the brakes had failed on the Reiss Hauling & Recycling trash truck, according to township police.

"He decided to attempt to make the left-hand turn onto Route 412 to avoid hitting the rebuilt firehouse, but the vehicle flipped over, snapping a telephone pole in half and crushing a parked vehicle," township police wrote in a news release.

Se-Wy-Co fire Chief Gary Wisniewski said Tuesday night he was out of the area all day but watched surveillance footage of the crash.

"It appears the driver did a pretty good job of trying to make the turn," Wisniewski said in an email, adding that it was unclear how far up Flint Hill Road the driver knew the brakes were out and whether there were any other opportunities to crash the truck before Route 412.

Reiss Hauling, based in Coopersburg, acknowledged the crash in a message on its voicemail and said, "We are running very, very behind on that route."
