Freight Train Strikes Semi in La Grange
Metra BNSF trains began resuming operations Friday evening after it was disrupted in parts of the west suburbs due to a semi being struck by a freight train. A freight train struck a semi around 1:52 p.m. at the La Grange Road crossing at a station in La Grange, Ill. Metra officials said. All three main train lines were blocked due to the crash, Metra said. Two lines have now reopened. No one was injured in the crash, La Grange police said. The semi was dragged by the train after the impact, and it damaged the train station building. |
