Apparently, the maiming of a spectator didn't slow anyone down. Afterwards, these nuts took to the local streets...
JACKSONVILLE, (June 16, 2024) — A spectator had his leg seriously injured while watching several cars compete in a sideshow event at JAX Legal Pit in Jacksonville. The venue is a large paved area on private property where street cars can perform high speed skids in circles, also called the "Tokyo Drift," in front of a paid audience.
In a viral video, it's observed that the participants and spectators do not observe any common safety measures. Although concrete barricades partially surround the perimeter of the skid pan, presumably for the protection of spectators, many if not most of the audience ventures onto the track beside the moving cars.
One man learned the hard way that he should have remained behind the barriers. While two vehicles were performing stunts, one of the vehicles apparently lost control and struck the bystander.
The man's leg was seriously crushed below his knee between the car's front bumper and a concrete barricade. The victim's leg appeared to be partially amputated. His medical status is unknown, however a post on social media from a reported friend related that the man's leg had been saved by surgeons.
