Malaysia. A Toyota abruptly cut into the flatbed truck's highway lane and in an attempt to avoid it, the flatbed driver collided heavily with a Range Rover. The impact caused the SUV to spin, roll over several times and hurl onto the adjacent main road.

Both the lorry driver and the Range Rover driver escaped without any life-threatening or serious injuries.

A woman was injured after the Land Rover sports utility vehicle (SUV) she was driving overturned in a five-vehicle accident at Kilometre 4, Kajang Ring Road (SILK), here, yesterday. In the incident at around 3.30pm, the accident is believed to have occurred after a lorry travelling straight braked suddenly. Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the accident caused the truck to lose control before entering the right lane and colliding with two cars and a motorcycle.

"As a result of the collision, a Land Rover driven by a 51-year-old local woman overturned several times before overturning and hitting a Honda City parked on the left shoulder of the road. The woman only suffered minor injuries and came to lodge a police report on the same day, while the driver of the other vehicle did not suffer any injuries and also lodged a police report," he said in a statement today.

According to him, the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

"The punishment provides for a fine of between RM5,000 to RM10,000 and can be jailed for up to 12 months. Members of the public with information related to the incident are asked to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Rosmawati Ab Radzak at 012-260 6782," he said.
