Brazil. Thursday, February 12, 2026, on highway BR-364 in the rural area of Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso, a flatbed tow truck carrying a pick-up truck lost control on wet pavement due to rain, skidded across the road and crossed into the oncoming lane.

The tow truck collided head-on with a tractor-trailer traveling in the opposite direction. The force of the impact caused the semi-truck to veer off the road and tumble down an embankment.

The driver of the semi-truck, identified as Valdeci R. dos S, 57, died at the scene.

The driver of the tow truck was not injured. He remained at the scene and underwent a breathalyzer test, which showed 0.00 mg/l.
