Female Tram Driver Sentenced to 30 Months After Passengers Fall from Tram
Two and a half years in a penal colony-settlement was the sentence given to 23-year-old tram driver Alexandra M. (formerly I. as she's married now, for her role in the June 2024 tram accident, which killed one person and injured 194 others (eight of them seriously). However, the prison sentence will have to wait, as the female employee currently is expecting a child. On June 6, 2024, after accepting a tram with a serviceability mark, the driver discovered a number of critical malfunctions during the trip. However, without informing the dispatcher of the malfunctioning lights and the failure of a portion of the electrodynamic brake, the convicted woman did not stop driving and continued operating the faulty vehicle with passengers, attempting to fix the problems herself. On a difficult section of the route with an incline, a combination of brake system malfunctions led to an uncontrolled increase in speed and loss of control, which resulted in the doors opening spontaneously, passengers falling onto the roadway, and then a collision with a tram in front on the climb to Kuznetsky on the Logovoe Highway. The court sentenced the convicted woman to imprisonment for a term of 2 years and 6 months, to be served in a penal colony, and an additional penalty of deprivation of the right to drive for a period of 2 years and 6 months. Due to pregnancy, the execution of the sentence in the form of imprisonment has been postponed until the child reaches the age of 14. |

The management gave her a fucked-up bus, and now SHE'S responsible? I would expect to see Tram Line Executives at that trial, on the dock as well! |
