Female Reporter and Cameraman Hit by a Car Live on Air
Mexico. Reporter Alma de la Rosa Flores, 35, and cameraman Cristo Morales from Gamavisión were hit by a car live on air while covering a rain-induced landslide. The team was broadcasting live from Avenida Morones Prieto to warn drivers about a dangerous mudslide and debris blocking the road following heavy rains. During the live shot, a black Jeep Patriot driven by a 19-year-old lost control on the wet pavement, skidded to avoid the mud pile, and plowed directly into the news crew, smashing them against a wall. The sudden impact was broadcast live, causing immediate shock for studio anchor Mario Gámez, who rushed to coordinate emergency help on the air. Both journalists miraculously survived the high-impact crash and are in stable condition. Alma de la Rosa Flores sustained minor injuries and contusions, while Cristo Morales suffered a leg fracture. The young driver was taken into custody by local authorities to determine legal responsibility. |
