Female Athlete and Marathon Runner Killed in Hit and Run Accident
Ecuador. Mónica A.M.C, being a prominent member of the local running community and was actively training to compete in the upcoming Chicago Marathon at the time of her death. She had previously completed other notable long-distance events, including the Miami and Guayaquil Half Marathons. However during the early morning hours of Friday, September 4, while she was jogging with a training group on the road in the Guayas province she was hit by a black pick-up truck before splitting the scene. The two others escaped unharmed. The Police investigating to catch the culprit. |

WTF did they THINK would happen? Why wasn't the 'pace' car behind them instead of alongside? Why weren't they ALL wearing high-reflective bands? So many questions.
