Fan Falls from an Outfield Wall at the Pirates Game
The Pittsburgh Pirates fan who plummeted 20 feet from the bleachers onto the field at PNC Park earlier this week has been identified. Kavan Markwood, 21, from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, has been revealed as the man filmed taking a harrowing tumble over the railing at the Clemente Wall during Wednesday night’s game between the Pirates and the Chicago Cubs. He was drunk and now in critical condition in the Hospital. |

Unless the ball was coming directly at him, it looks like he launched himself over the rail on purpose?

Hard to tell from the distance (and I dunno if he thought the ball was headed his way), but he might've simply jumped to his feet a tad too exuberantly and up-momentum just carried him right over, too drunk to stop.

Re: Fan Falls from an Outfield Wall at the Pirates Game
Local Pittsburgh news reported he was actually only 20-years old. Was at game with GF and best friend. Had poured beer over his head when mccutchen hit a 2-run homer, and was celebrating when he fell. https://larrybrownsports.com/basebal...arkwood/695599 https://www.si.com/mlb/pirates/news/...ys-injured-fan |
