Facade Made of Plaster of Paris and Metal at Bus Station Falls on Pedestrian
A massive POP (Plaster of Paris) and iron structure collapsed from a height of approximately 40 feet from a bus station in India, on top of an elderly pedestrain who tragically died. CCTV footage shows that a 72-year-old elderly passenger was exiting the depot. During this time, seeing debris falling from above, the security guard shouted and stopped him. The elderly man,N.G.D, startled, stood still for a moment, and as soon as he tried to turn back, a huge structure fell on him from a height of 40 feet. Being crushed under the structure, he sustained severe injuries to his head, face, and legs, which led to his on-the-spot death. Gross negligence by the authorities has also come to light in this accident, as depot operators have admitted that they did not have the 'Structure Stability Certificate' which is considered essential for this building. |
