I recently took my car in for service at the local (two hour drive) MINI dealer. My car had a week long stay at the Dr’s. I was given a loaner car for the week. The first thing the guy tried to give me was an electric car. He looked at my with a smile and said, “Here’s the key and you don’t even have to worry about gas.” I was like, “Huh?” He says, “Ya, it’s electric!” I’m like how far does it go on a charge? He says, “Oh, about a hundred miles.”  I looked at him and said a flat “No thanks, I live a hundred miles from here and I’m sure as hell not taking that car. They found a normal gasoline powered car to give me instead. I won’t have anything to do with having an electric car.. fuck that!   |

Cheap Chinese garbage lithium batteries. I always buy stuff like that directly from the manufacturer, not Amazon/eBay/AliExpress.

I do a lot of custom interior work, no engine maintenance. This was a passenger airbag sensor in the passenger seat gone bad. I felt it better for them to get to do this one. Not cheap but WAY better than getting a new car.. which I wouldn’t want..

But I work on it myself so I haven't taken mine in.
