Re: Explosion Crash with a Sliding Oncoming Vehicle
Found an answer to that: Many newer cars and traffic lights use LEDs, which look solid to the naked eye. The camera catches the flickering. The way many of these cameras work is that the iris on the lens is fixed, but the shutter speed changes to get the correct exposure. The older bulbs were always lit and posed no problem, but because of power and reliability, many places are switching to LED Traffic Lights. Depending on the design of the LED light, it flashes at 60 or 120 times per second for 60 Hz power OR 50 or 100 times per second for 50 Hz power. Because the camera is scanning the shot at a higher shutter speed, some flickering is expected because the flicker of the light and the camera's shutter are not synchronized. |
