russia. According to preliminary information, the chain of collisions was caused when an elderly female driver of trolleybus BKM 409 with 43 years of experience, finished work on route 20 and stopped at a car wash at 23:44.

After stopping, she attempted to get out of the cabin to adjust the mirror and accidentally touched the gas pedal with her foot. It jammed and the vehicle, left without her controlling it. The entire incident was recorded on video cameras installed in the driver's cabin and at the car wash itself.

The car wash operator was run over and hospitalized with severe injuries: He has a head injury and broken ribs. He was put into an artificial coma to stabilize his condition.

Having run over the man, the trolleybus continued moving and entered a platform with other buses. At full speed, the multi-ton machine hit two more trolleybuses.

The female driver has not yet been fired. (Other sites write she is fired)

The circumstances of the emergency are to be established by city police officers. An investigation is underway.
